With the first quarter of the year at its end, AIDA National Franchises is proud to announce that Young Carr has taken over the reigns as the new AIDA CEO from the first of April 2008.
Young has more than 10 year’s experience in general and marketing management roles in the Healthcare Insurance, Life Insurance and Investment sectors - with special experience in developing distribution and sales networks in South Africa and Africa.
Born and bred in Langebaan, Young’s career started in 1988 as a sales manager with Southern Life. For the next eighteen years Young was involved inter alia as Broker Manager and National Sales Manager with Liberty Life; Head of Sales support: Standard Bank of SA unit trusts; Managing Director of a Discovery Life/Health Franchise and the Head of Sales and Marketing for the Genesis medical scheme.
In between Young also found time to be the Wizard Saldahna Franchisee and a founding member and director of the AIDA West Coast office, with the late Christo Truter. An office that is still a proud member of the AIDA family.
Add to the above his training and education at WITS Business school and Stellenbosch University; numerous certificate courses such as certificates in Financial Markets and Instruments, Business Economics, Business Planning Strategy, media and TV spokesman training as well as being a member of professional institutes such as the Institute for Independent Business, the Institute of Marketing Management (MFSA) and a member of the Charter and Insurance Institute UK; and it become evident that Young is a salted and seasoned businessman with a wealth of experience.
Young’s is passionate about sales and marketing and have a thorough knowledge and experience with it, therefore much energy will be poured into these key and integral aspects of our industry. Young is also an accomplished speaker and an inspirational author, and it would be appropriate to describe him as a “people’s person”.
