THE AIDA real estate Franchise
group is enlarging its African footprint
with the imminent opening of
an office in Mozambique.
The operation will be run by
Chris Pieterse. owner of the Aida
franchise in Rustenburg. who has
developed two holiday resorts near
Inhambane in Mozambique in the
past few years and runs a holiday
rental agency there.
He says the agency will form the
foundation for the new Aida office,
which will open in August. "The
new office will market property
offered on the open market in addition
to units built by our development
company, 3 Amigos. The holiday
rental business will be expanded
to include units in other developments
and single holiday homes."
Pieterse's latest Mozambican
development - Duna Branca, meaning
White Dunes - stands on a
peninsula near Inhambane. Built
right on the beach it backs on to
Lake Inhambane.
Eighteen air-conditioned 160mJ
units have been built on 1.3ha. The
development has its own certified
fresh water source. The units have
three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a
kitchen and a large living area leading
to a wooden deck overlooking
the beach and ocean.
Prices range between R750 000
and R950 000. but only five units are
still available.
Pieterse says most units were
sold to South Africans who bought
homes for their own holiday use and
will make them available for holiday
rentals for the rest of the year.
"There are also American buyere
who have invested in units as holiday
rental accommodation."
Plans for another developmenl
have been approved. The new 4ha
development with about 70 units
will offer fractional ownership.
