In one of the first such offerings in the Eastern Cape, and just in time for the festive season, fractional ownership opportunities have now become available in the exclusive Kenton Eco Estate 120km east of Port Elizabeth.
These are being marketed by the new Aida fractional sales division and the group’s franchise in Port Elizabeth, whose principal Tobie Ferns says the fractional titles are aimed at investors who require luxury holiday accommodation without the problems associated with the upkeep of distant property, and are already getting buyers excited.
“With fractional ownership you purchase a share in a company that owns a particular luxury property, and which also manages, services and maintains that property for the convenience of the owners,” he explains.
Situated just outside Kenton-on-Sea, the 230ha secure private estate will now have a number of units dedicated to fractional ownership, and 22 fractional titles will be offered per unit – at R380 000 each - which will give each owner two weeks’ occupation per year, he says.
“These weeks will be allocated on a rotational basis in cycles of eight years, which will ensure that all owners have high season access to their units in certain years."
Kenton Eco Estate, which offers a stretch of pristine beach frontage, is currently one of the most sought-after property investment locations in the Eastern Cape. Its homesites are discreetly positioned within enclaves of natural bush and grassland and no fences or walls are permitted in order to maintain a natural ambience. Architectural guidelines encourage the use of natural materials such as stone.
Boardwalks to the 2,15km stretch of beach, as well as walking, jogging and cycling paths ensure that residential sites are conveniently linked with the indigenous bush, coastal dunes and beaches. The pedestrian and horse trails will facilitate bird and game viewing and whale sightings from the beach will be a bonus for nature enthusiasts.
The estate also offers several activities in keeping with the eco theme. Residents will have access to surfing, water skiing, boating and surf angling as well as deep-water fishing.
Access is strictly controlled with a gated entrance and an electrified perimeter fence.
