Back to news archives Bigger housing demand: agents wanted Bigger housing demand: agents wanted The Aida North East Executive office, which serves Kempton Park, Edenvale, Bedfordview and Germiston North, has launched a recruitment drive for new agents.
Francois Joubert jnr, manager of the estate agency, says the step follows a marked increase in demand for residential units in the area. “Contrary to prevailing conditions in many other areas in the country, where demand for housing has been slow, our agency is experiencing a notable spike in demand for units in the R600 000 to R900 000 price range.
“Demand has been stimulated by the cycle of decreasing interest rates and many new buyers are now approaching us with a view to enter the property market,” Joubert says. “Aida, a trusted name in the industry with more than 50 years’ of dedicated client service, is attracting a large proportion of these prospective buyers in our area.”
Joubert adds that the agency, with offices in Kempton Park and Edenvale, has served property consumers for more than a decade and its directors have 30 years’ experience in real estate.
“We offer our agents exemplary support services and infrastructure so that they can concentrate on their core business, which is to give the best possible service to property clients. We also place a big premium on training to enable our agents to keep up with the latest developments in the industry.
“Training includes regular in-house training, coaching and agent monitoring programmes, and regular guest speakers from the industry. Bursaries are available to our agents to obtain their NQF 4 qualifications, which is now required by law.”
He adds that each agent has his own workstation, access to a hub of computers linked to a server and a personalised email address
Support services include highly experienced directors and well-trained and experienced managers. With combined experience of close to 50 years, the management of Aida North East Executive successfully leads its team through various market conditions. The open door policy encourages agents to freely approach the management for any assistance, he says.
Agents at Aida North East Executive are also rewarded and recognised for their performance, Joubert says. “Apart from monthly and annual rewards, we offer our agents fringe benefits and a top producer club.”
Agents Madelaine Muller and Barbara Doukas say the great encouragement and recognition agents receive from the top management team are two factors that enable them to be the best they can be. Muller adds that a national and inter office referral system and the latest technology and marketing material also contributes to agents’ success.
Mario Valli says the in-house training is superb. “Aida's national training must be the best in the country and we also benefit from a sound structure with referrals and interaction with fellow agents. As a very successful and happy agent (NQF 4 qualified), I feel that my success is attributed to the fact that we have a top principal and skilled top management.”
Lizette Engelbrecht adds that training extends to personal attributes. “I have learned to be more assertive, energetic and friendly. Intensive training has helped me to communicate much better with buyers as well as sellers.”
Molwazi Msimang says the fact that the office implements a system of area specialists helps agents to focus on their particular areas. “It enables us to build relationships with clients in our areas and give top-notch service.
“Image is important because clients want to deal with professionals and when you dress and act casually they don't take you seriously. It took me a while to understand that, but thanks to Petro, one of our directors, I now understand the concept.
“Working with a great team like my colleagues who are helpful, successful and friendly helps because you have people you can look up to and you can only be successful when you are surrounded by the winning team.”
