Overview

Drakensberg Eco Estate, a 2000 hectare Farm, with The Drakensberg mountain range forming a North-Western front

This mountain range can determine one’s state of being. At times grey and mysterious, sometimes bright and lush green. One can not help but stand in awe when coming face to face with the mighty cliffs. After a sudden raincloud burst the ravine breathes warmly and exhales small clouds of mist that hang like ornaments around the mountain. The shady, cool ravines flow where one can explore waterfalls, orchids, ferns and the countless Yellowwood trees, their trunks so big that they can be embraced like a childhood friend.

This mountain should be lightly walked upon in order to preserve the Zulu’s iron smelter. The footsteps of the Voortrekkers as well as the legacy left by the Anglo-Boer War is all around. In this eco-sensitive setting, one can settle in any of the seven small towns which are bound by the mountain as a lifeline. Here one can enjoy the peaceful company in the singing wind and brightest of stars.

Ferroland

Ferroland with its soil rich and scarlet, nurtured in a breathtaking ravine. In December Pink Proteas glitter on the crown surrounding the little town and White-Crested Eagles glide effortlessly in pairs, as if dancing in the sky. One can hardly believe that The Voortrekkers travelled along the spine of Ferroland, filled with courage and on the beat of screeching ox-wagon wheels, in the hope of finally reaching Natal. Here one of them paid the highest price and found his final resting place with a never ending view of KZN, up to where horizon and earth become one.

Fractional Title

Pioneered in Europe in the 1960’s, timesharing or vacation ownership is the fastest growing segment of the travel and tourism industry today.

Timesharing offers owners an opportunity to purchase furnished resort accommodations usually in weekly intervals - for a fraction of the cost of whole ownership. For a onetime purchase price and annual maintenance fee, timeshare purchasers own their resort vacations for a pre-determined number of years. Because the cost to purchase and maintain a resort accommodation is shared by many purchasers, ownership is affordable.

Timeshare resorts are professionally managed, relieving the timeshare owner of the burden of maintaining a second home. They enjoy the privilege of resort ownership and the pleasure of being treated as guests each and every time they vacation at a timeshare resort.

Another reason for the phenomenal growth of timesharing is vacation exchange. Exchange opens a world of opportunities for timeshare owners to enjoy vacations at countless destinations. As such, exchange has become one of the primary incentives for purchasing vacation ownership, thus generating broad appeal for the timeshare product. RCI’s introduction of vacation exchange in 1974 jump-started the timeshare industry and it remains an essential reason for purchasing timeshare today.
